Objective of NMMS Scholarship 2025
The NMMS Scholarship Scheme is designed to reduce the dropout rate at the secondary and higher secondary level by providing financial support to meritorious students belonging to economically weaker families.
Students who qualify for this scholarship receive a grant of ₹12,000 per year (₹1,000 per month) from Class IX to Class XII.

NMMS Scholarship Amount
Selected students will receive a scholarship of ₹12,000 per annum, i.e., ₹1,000 per month, for four years (Class IX to XII), provided they maintain the required academic performance.
Eligibility Criteria for NMMS Scholarship 2025
📘 Class Eligibility
- Students studying in Class VIII in Government, Local Body, or Government-Aided Schools are eligible.
📘 Academic Qualification
- Students must have secured at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST) in Class VII to appear for the NMMS exam.
- To continue receiving the scholarship, students must secure:
- 55% in Class IX & XI
- 60% in Class X (Relaxable by 5% for SC/ST)
📘 Family Income
- The parental income of the applicant must not exceed ₹3,50,000 per annum from all sources.
📘 Type of School
- Students must be regular students in Government, Government-aided, or Local Body schools.
Who Cannot Apply for NMMS Scholarship?
- Students of private schools (though they may appear in the exam, they are not eligible for the scholarship).
- Students studying in Kendriya Vidyalaya or Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV).
- Students in Residential Schools run by the State Government, or those receiving free education, boarding, and lodging.
